Dave McKendry is a singer and songwriter, originally from Belfast, who made his career in Vienna after connecting with a beautiful girl who took him in off the street he had been busking on. Since then, Dave has played at Schottenfest, DonauInselFest and StadtFestWien, toured twice through Germany, Austria and Switzerland, co-written an original piece for the University of Vienna to be used in their Human Rights Masters Program, and even appeared on television.

"Colourblind" is a song about reconciliation between Protestants and Catholics, and between black and white, exploring the process by which we become closed-minded, and arbitrarily define our enemies as different from us with distinctions that are both unnatural and unnecessary. Dave touches the hearts of his listeners with a combination of extraordinary vocal tone, beautiful guitars, and a lyrical presence that is reflective, deep, and spiritual. "Colourblind" invites us to spend a wistful moment examining our collective experience with prejudice, as we yearn together for a world that is equally welcoming to all.

Watching as the sun would rise, up all night
To burn the colors from my eyes,
Thinking like a child, spent my life, wishing I
I could be colourblind
