The Alien Cormorant is the moniker of Dundee-born musician, producer, and videographer Alan Cormack. He has composed soundtracks for numerous films and BAFTA-nominated video games, and recent collaborated with legendary producer Steve Albini. Alan is also a member of Scottish indie rock pioneers Spare Snare.

Cecilia Miradoli is a singer and songwriter based in Milan. She began her musical career by touring the world with Italian jazz pianist & composer Giorgio Gaslini. She has also performed with jazz artists Mal Waldrom, Steve Lacy & Ludovico Einaudi. Miradoli was previously the lead singer of the rock band Nomoredolls, and is currently one half of the duo PINHDAR.

As the pair shared their experiences of living in lockdown via email - Miradoli in Milan, and Cormack in Scotland - these discussions quickly became musical ideas that they swapped, worked on in isolation, and then recorded in their own home studios. Thus was born their collaborative EP "From My House To Your House," the title inspired by a work of graffiti in Milan, spotted by Miradoli.

"The Night Comes" is a refreshing mix of operatic vocals with indie-rock grooves, jazz phrasing, and subtle hints of experimental pop. This mysterious and enigmatic groove encapsulates the difficult paradox of quarantine in the time of Covid: just when we need each other is when we are forced to stay apart. The Alien Cormorant & Cecilia Miradoli channeled their frustration into a narrative that explores the unnatural discomfort of forced solitude.

And there was a desire to laugh, kiss,
and there was a desire of spring and summer,
sun, flowers and many starry nights.

But, the evening falls with his distress and fear then,
the night comes.
