Danny Golden - Old Love

It’s not easy climbing that hill, taking the same chords everyone else has and making something new. The writing here is magnificent: the images are lush and the voice is dusty, the guitar crackles like a campfire and the song builds from just an acoustic guitar into the layered swell of a full band.

Danny is searching for truth, and people to share it with, a cause as noble as any:

“Bells stop ringing and fires they burn out
after a few sips the cup runs dry
like the seasons some people drift away
leaves that once were green turn brown...”— Danny Golden

My feeling is always that’s exactly where truth lives: at the crossroads of regret and circumstance, where time goes one way, and sometimes your heart goes another. Tell it, brother.

Danny Golden doesn’t quite remember how he ended up in Austin, TX but we are glad he did. This song is featured on our Lost Treasure - Americana playlist.
