This might be an outtake from Tom Petty's Wildflowers, with the confident simplicity and the smattering of small observations that create a pointillist cohesion. The twangy-clean country guitar with a bit of amp crunch adds the counterpoint, and everything creeps into view from miles away and speeds by as if from the window of a train.

Acoustic guitar, piano, some bass drum, a strictly rationed underpinning of reverb and good instinct, apparently that's all it takes. And the voices, everywhere, but it's just a melody; this song is a gang of ghosts, kicking up air in unison. It's breathtaking.

Hollow Coves is a Folk band from Australia.
