The comparison here could also be to Fleet Foxes, with that sugar-sweet fluffiness to the vocal mix, and the primacy of the acoustic plucked string.

The first thing I thought of after listening to this song was David Byrne: there is a song on Grown Backwards that this reminds me of. There is something about the tropical drum vibe via drum samples, and the tenor guitar, and the sense of melody that feels timeless and throwback at the same time.

The comparison here could also be to Fleet Foxes, with that sugar-sweet fluffiness to the vocal mix, and the primacy of the acoustic plucked string. It's a self-reflective sort of lyrical mojo, and an interesting extended arrangement, that elevates this song into true acoustic nerd-rock with plenty of flair.

Sandtimer is a British Indie-Folk band formed by Hampshire-based musicians Robert Sword and Simon Thomas. This song is featured on our CHILL NEW Songwriters playlist.
