Winona Oak quickly found herself in the public spotlight when she collaborated with The Chainsmokers on their viral hit single "Hope." Today she shares a mesmerizing video for new single "Another Story," from her recently-released debut CLOSURE (Neon Gold / Atlantic Records).

With this self-reflective pop confessional, Winona explores how naiveté can make us project our hopes on an unsatisfying relationship - as she decides to move on and rewrite her love story with someone who is worth the trouble. The video, directed by frequent collaborator Andreas Öhman, combines modern dance and kaleidoscopic projections into intimate images of Winona entwined with a pair of dancers, mimicking the push and pull of romantic drama and the impossible dream of a perfect connection.

After moving to Stockholm to pursue her passion for music, a leap of faith to attend Neon Gold Records’ writing retreat in the Nicaraguan jungle in 2017 introduced Winona to Australian electronic maestro What So Not. She went on to co-write his next two singles "Better" and "Stuck In Orbit," eventually stepping up as both the writer and featured artist on his 2018 single "Beautiful," which won the 2019 Award for Best Independent Dance Single at the Australian Independent Music Awards. On her new EP, Winona leverages whispered vocal tones and a theatrical vibrato with orchestral elements, served over a bed of simmering electronic beats. The result is a heady mix of evocative melody, moody rhythms, and an understated lyrical prowess that puts her in a class entirely her own. "Another Story" expands on an enduring sense of optimism, as Winona Oak refuses to accept anything less than what she deserves. The first step towards a better life is knowing that we are worth it.
