Let us never forget to appreciate the relationships that make our lives whole.
Krister Axel - Jan 20, 2022

Dekker will be releasing his sophomore album "I Won’t Be Your Foe" in May, the much-awaited follow up to 2020's "Slow Reveal: Chapter One" which has been streamed over 12 million times and aired on radio stations around the world while also seeing heavy rotation in Europe. Known as the American half of the Anglo-American Indie-Folk duo Rue Royale, Brookln Dekker is now also a solo artist, known simply as Dekker.

Although Brookln has been the principle songwriter for the band over the years, writing on behalf of the duo engages an entirely different artistic perspective. Working towards what is now a very successful solo project enables him to creatively 'do his own thing.' Empowered with his own sound and his own style, Brookln is channeling a passion for pop-friendly folk melodies and organic grooves into a unique sound that is populating many editorial playlists and influential radio stations around Europe.

The mesmerizing music video for "Back and Forth" plots a pilgrimage of putting one foot in front of the other, exploring an introspective search for purpose in what is certainly a messy and fragmented world. With warm drum tones, a lively acoustic guitar, and a flowing falsetto, Dekker reminds is that human connection is the bond that 'keeps [us] tethered to the source.' This shimmering track delivers a laid-back and intimate mood that is a perfect match for your favorite rainy day playlist.

Let us never forget to appreciate the relationships that make our lives whole.

Remember when I fell
I nearly fell apart
Then you reached your hand out
And took mine in yours
I’ll find the root and I’ll pull it out
I’ll pull it inside out
And I won’t let it get away
I’ll have it all tied up
