I got started with data and software just out of college in 1997. Microsoft had just released their game-changer Access 97, and I immediately started working for a law firm in Madison, Wisconsin, scanning files and logging them in an Access database. I've been playing with data and content management systems ever since.
I went from Access, to VBA, to SQL, and then found Ruby on Rails when it was still in v1. I built a consultancy out of San Francisco, and then Ashland, as a Rails expert.
I started my first blog in 2004 as a static page of html that I would run updates on every weekend via ftp. I've worked with Ruby on Rails, Wordpress, Tumblr, Squarespace, Ghost, and Craft CMS. I just love putting creative content together with smart data management.
