Zoë Poledouris and her husband Angel Roché Jr. have given her father’s timeless theme from the original score of Lonesome Dove a new set of wings with an Americana-inspired rendition of the instrumental classic. A charming vocal performance from Zoë and newly-penned lyrics bring this popular song into the new century with a fresh coat of pop-friendly paint.

This unflappable melody has lived on in the hearts of many for so long that Concord Music Group label Varèse Sarabande decided to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the LONESOME DOVE saga with a reissue of the beloved original TV Miniseries Soundtrack. Out of print for more than 10 years, and available digitally for the first time, this inspirational reanimation of the Old West will soon be reaching a new generation of fans.

These dusty footprints are all that we needed for us to know the way

Previously known simply as the theme to Lonesome Dove, this new rendition of the song entitled Let’s Remember distills an orchestral manuscript to its essence, which is the raw wanderlust and rich appeal of an open frontier, coupled with the stoic realism of life on a stagecoach. An entire generation fell in love with this character drama from director Simon Wincer, and now the entire soundtrack can be yours on compact disc, along with this new version of the theme.

Take the road that goes straight into my heart

LONESOME DOVE, the first western from Basil Poledouris, won the 1989 Emmy® for Music Composition for a Limited Series, Movie or Special. This was the first of five scores Basil would compose for director Simon Wincer who also won an Emmy® for the mini-series. With 7 Emmys®, 2 Golden Globes® and numerous other awards and acclaims, LONESOME DOVE helped to revive both the television western and the miniseries in the early 90’s.
