"Gold," the new single from JW Francis, is based off Robert Frost's poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay." It's about trying to stay true. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, raised in Paris, France, and now based in New York City, JW Francis is a 25-year-old songwriter who just wants to make people happy.

His brand of sincere jangle-pop delivers hints of Mac DeMarco and the Velvet Underground, while his songs are a mixture of tenacious craftsmanship and emotional self-expression. After putting in his time supporting other artists by running a music magazine (Rare Candy) and a recording studio (CU Records), Francis set off to make his own art in his own way. His latest track "Gold" mixes a unique sonic palette with choppy rhythms and a poetic sense of optimism, while proving that raw inspiration will never go out of style.

In my head I see myself
And all the things I want to change
I'm keeping it gold
