Lila Tristram is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in East London. As a graduate of Goldsmiths University she joins a who's-who list of recently successful artists like Puma Blue, Rosie Lowe, and James Blake. "Our Friends" is Lila’s first single following her debut EP release in March.

With a hushed vocal and haunting performance on finger-style acoustic guitar, her brooding sound might remind you a bit of Nick Drake. Says Lila: "This song is about the pain of never truly being able to make other people happy." As the track progresses, her expressive and delicate guitar performance is joined by layers of atmospheric synth tones, adding a sense of depth and intricacy that underscores the introspective premise. "Our Friends" explores the polarity of human connection, as we discover a sense of freedom in the fact that we can never control the emotional state of those around us. It is both terrible and intoxicating to know that we are truly alone. Lila Tristram counts the work of Marika Hackman and Aldous Harding as a big influence on her style of writing, as her raw and poignant style of indie folk delivers a timeless sonic experience in the noble quest for universal truth.
