N. Kerbin — Nathaniel Wesley Fenton House Kerbin — is a Poughkeepsie-born and Virginia-bred songwriter based in Los Angeles by way of Brooklyn. His latest track "Black and Blue" pairs warm and atmospheric folk textures with tender vocals, creating a dreamy sonic experience of equal parts nostalgia and melancholy. A deeply personal lyrical intimacy draws the listener in to Nate’s world of struggle and triumph, as we explore the kind of summer relationships that burn up quickly in a frenzy of desire and opportunism.

In the moment, nothing feels more important than the other person – and when they fade away, it’s physically painful. But as we move forward, we forget the pain, and over time there’s real sweetness attached to those memories. "Black and Blue" explores this paradox of wistful trauma with a complex alchemy of layered acoustic guitar, swirling electronic ephemera, and a vocal mix that puts the raw, honest emotion front and center. Out now on Random Harvest Records, N. Kerbin's latest single delivers a beautiful retrospective of lost love and lessons learned.

He let himself fall a little bit harder
Til black and blue he hung the moon
And carried on
