Part of the appeal here is the element of surprise, thinking where this is going to go and then being wrong.
Krister Axel - Jul 27, 2018

It starts out all lo-fi, dry drums, simple, but slowly develops into something very different from where it started. It feels a bit like sardonic college rock at first, but Tobogán soon turns into a deep and luscious collection of vocal samples over a relaxed drum kit groove. The main interlude showcases some interesting elevated dynamics which then leads back to the simple hook.

Part of the appeal here is the element of surprise, thinking where this is going to go and then being wrong. Perhaps the message of this song is just that simplicity plus style can equal beauty: the sound of the band here is organic, which juxtaposes nicely with the clear machine-voice of the vocal sample triggers.
