We can always be, as humans, brought together by an appreciation for life’s beauty: confident in the truth that we are never really alone.

With a big 4-part harmony leading into a gentle piano-ballad verse, it’s not until the chorus that we even hear the acoustic guitar. And then you won’t hear the horns until just before the second verse; the harmonium after that.

It’s like a trail of little melodic gifts, tied together with a folk-pop-friendly sense of presence, and some humility. The message here is that we can always be, as humans, brought together by an appreciation for life’s beauty: confident in the truth that we are never really alone.

“You do not have to be known
even the best of us have sometimes felt alone
this whole world is your home”— The Collection

The Collection already enjoy a well-deserved following on Spotify with mostly US-based fans; we hope this will be the single that opens them up to a larger international market.

For the past 7 years, David Wimbish, along with the various iterations his band The Collection, have been charting the ebb and flow of a life seen through the eyes of a poet. This song is featured on our Roots Collection playlist.
