Theres that pulsing, laid-back vibe, on a bed of dry groove, with some very simple, almost mantric language.

The arrangement is smart and effective, with a hook that works equally well as a broken-down gospel stomp and an orchestral machination.

An Eastern-inspired tabla-pocket meshes nicely with the sputtering bass and layers of falsetto.

Its a chaotic song for a chaotic time; the video is half horror flick, and half biopic. In LA, only weird is normal. 

The sound here is gorgeous, and thick, layering cold synthesizers and an echoed bass, with a beat that stomps on the line between synth-pop and Americana.
