Soft Streak - Ride

Soft Streak, with their single Ride, brings us back to yesteryear when keyboards were analog, everyone was still paying attention, and it was ok to be different.

This is a fascinating use of synthesizers to create atmosphere; from the bass sound, to the swirling ear candy, and a very percussive mid-heavy modulated sine wave. Truly, the chorus is where it all hits, and the three main athletes of bass, keyboard riff, and vocal melody start going high-heartbeat.

It feels like listening to one of those old Depeche Mode records where your friend would sit stoned on the couch playing out all the parts with two index fingers on a glass coffee-table: "Listen to that hi-hat, man. Wow."
