With a powerful melodic baritone somewhere between the high drama of Al Green and the earthy soul of Otis Redding, Adam Douglas gives us access to his epiphany: some things are best left alone. Not all things are meant to be understood, as much as they are to be accepted.

The piano, acoustic guitar, and tight-brush drum sound, along with the lyrical persona, could all be from 1970s Laurel Canyon, like a co-write between Carole King and Lowell George. The soaring melody takes you where you need to go, and that booming electric bass really ties it all together with the added dynamics.
