With a gorgeous, salty-sweet voice that pulls you in from the first note, folk and indie pop songwriter Agi is from Leeds and delivers an engaging sonic experience that is perfect for fans of Lizzy McAlpine. Her latest track "green velvet (demo)" was written to hold space for a time that was very uncertain: at an in-between stage of her life that found her sleeping on a mattress, she allowed herself to dream of a time where she was completely content. This soothing track served as a spark of romance in a moment that was mentally draining.

Agi sent a voice note of the song to friend and musician, Pete Woodin (Wunderhorse), who played and arranged the guitar parts, and her frequent collaborator, Christian Fiore (JORDY, Violet Skies), who produced the demo. Released in this form, "green velvet" retains its stripped-down, rootsy nature while also creating a beautiful sonic narrative.

If you enjoyed this song, feel free to follow Agi on Spotify. It's not hard to see why she was named one of the "Best Artists in 2021" by BBC Introducing—her combination of emotional intimacy, soulful vocals, and subtle, creative songwriting allows her music to drift right into your heart with ease. We look forward to hearing much more from this exciting new artist.

After a stunning debut last year, Leeds’ own singer-songwriter, Agi, has garnered support from the likes of Dork, Mahogany, and Spotify’s Fresh Finds.
