Ottawa-based artist Andrew Waines drops his debut 7-song EP, entitled Smell The Roses. It is a modern pop record with hints of vintage soul and RnB, and delivers a beautiful spotlight on his impressive vocal delivery.

While Waines’ music invites comparison to Allen Stone, the level of dedication that this 21-year-old brings to developing his craft sets him apart. An accomplished athlete, Waines once considered pursuing a career as a pro soccer player, which he’d played competitively for many years. He has already become a fixture in the Ottawa music scene and has performed at RBC Bluesfest, the 150th Grey Cup Festival, and others. This smooth tenor vocal couples with a gorgeous melody and chorus lift to deliver the proposal of a lifetime. Smell The Roses, the latest from Andrew Waines, is a beautiful harmony served over a simple groove on the electric guitar, waxing romantic about the girl of his dreams.

Beautiful
Don’t be afraid to fly
I’ll meet you in the sky
