With a sound that reminds me ever so slightly of my old friend Shane Leonard, this latest track from German artist Angela Aux has the loose warmth and straight-ahead eighth note chop of an instant indie classic. With a creative mind that seems to live right at the nexus between absurdity and spiritual truth, he describes himself as a lover of folk, Krautrock, and experimental rock.

Now teamed up with Vienna‘s finest Underground producer Wolf Lehmann, latest single "Devil Limbo" is a worthy exposition of Angela Aux's most common elements: a touch of philosophy, delivered as a Nirvana-inspired pastiche of Four Tet, slathered in synths that would make Tame Impala proud. It's all in day's work for this Political Science, Philosophy, and German Literature grad from Ludwig Maximilians Universität München. For packing such a diverse range of influences, "Devil Limbo" goes down easy with swirling layers of analog warmth, an ever-present electric guitar, and a muscular bass line. This track is easy to love and hard to stop listening to, delivered as it is with impeccable production polish and an intimate yet unassuming vocal presence.
