Atomic Blonde's exposure to music took a few interesting turns throughout the course of her young life. Along with her fair share of idyllic childhood memories, she also suffered the unfortunate circumstance of some unusual medical issues. At just 14 years old, she saw several specialists and even spent a week at the Mayo Clinic Hospital undergoing tests in an effort to determine the cause of her 'medical mystery.'

Although the moment is now firmly in the rear-view mirror, the shadow of that difficult period continues to linger. Throughout her life, she has found music to be her outlet—as a way of holding space for her unique history and transforming discomfort into art. With the songs that she writes, Atomic Blonde explores the inner depths of her existence while also providing a template for others to turn to art in their darkest moments. Latest single "Kansas City Sunset" delivers a moving example of chamber pop that is at once both melancholic and euphoric, mirroring the complexity of modern catharsis with hints of unrequited love, self-possession, and psychedelic rapture. This beautiful track draws from the metaphor of natural phenomena as a reflection of humanity to make a powerful statement about the infinite power of the mind to heal itself.
