Bruce "Chalkie" Chalk is a single dad from Perth in Western Australia who loves to write songs and is now collaborating with Rob Agostini at Soundbaker Studios. "Superfan" began as a ballad on the guitar and gradually evolved into a pop-friendly dance groove, with lyrics that were inspired by the fascination his young daughter and her friends have with various 'influencers' on TikTok—a popular social networking app.

The music video features her dance school troupe navigating Perth and the surrounding area with youthful energy, a love of physical movement, and an infectious sense of living in the moment. "Superfan" puts a spotlight on the power that web technologies have to both inspire and provide comfort for a new generation of tech-savvy consumers. A subtle hook on the electric guitar, an EDM inspired pulse on the kick drum, and waves of layered synthesizer provide a fitting backdrop for the exceptional choreography and passionate performance, driven by the creative need to be a part of something larger than life. Chalkie's daughter and friends communicate that rare social magic that feels inclusive, uplifting, and delightfully exuberant. "Superfan" is a fun reminder that we all need heroes to help us become our best selves.

"Superfan" is featured as track 6 from Chalkie's Harris Road EP.
