For Houston duo Cliffs + Caves the third single from their EP Capsize, Goodbye For Good, is a beautiful mid-tempo folk reminiscence, sowing seeds in the fertile ground that encompasses folk, country, and Americana. Their fluid and powerful duet lays the groundwork for this resolution of a bad relationship that is long overdue.

In that commingling of acoustic piano, long notes from the string section, and the steady fingerpicking of an acoustic guitar, we have a soothing and comfortable pocket that extends this story of missed connection from a collection of details into a steady narrative. Like waves crashing into the shore, the possibility of love was both present and fleeting. Now the time has come to turn the page.

Mother-daughter duo Cliffs and Caves isn’t shy about using their music to tell deeply personal stories. This song is featured on our Country playlist.
