Scottish Indie Folk band Constant Follower preview their debut full-length release "neither is, nor ever was" with haunting new single "Set Aside Some Time." Accompanied with an immersive and enchanting music video that was directed by Martin J Pickering - who is known for his work with Dua Lipa, Paloma Faith, and Lethal Bizzle - nostalgic images of a lost childhood are super-imposed over visions of lead singer McAll, guitar in hand, as he mines the depths of his own imagination for clues to his forgotten past.

As a teenager, lead singer and guitarist for the band McAll woke up in a hospital to find he had survived a catastrophic head injury. His memories had been erased, and he was forced to build a new life from nothing. The next decade was spent in a cabin on the coast of Scotland - reflecting on life, and loss, and the long road to recovery, as McAll eventually found the inspiration to begin songwriting again. "Set Aside Some Time" channels that experience into a poignant and chilling reminder that everything beautiful is temporary. McAll uses his gift for music as a symbol of resilience as he moves beyond the aftermath of physical and emotional trauma with a warning: what we love today, may be gone tomorrow. Yet, the heart persists. Constant Follower is the most exciting indie band to emerge from Scotland in recent years, weaving McAll's gritty wisdom into dreamy threads of Folk and Lo-fi Rock.

They scraped you from the street again
A night alone with no way home
A need so strong you know can’t be controlled
Everything we love grows old

So save yourself some heart
Till you need it
You’ll need it
And set aside some time
Till you need it
You’ll need it
You’ll need it

The current lineup for Constant Follower consists of McAll, guitarist Andrew Pankhurst, Amy Campbell on backing vocals and synth, and McAll’s partner Kathleen Stosch on backing vocals, synth and bass. This song is featured on our Rainy Day playlist.
