With a bongo track and some vocals, this one starts out like a poetry slam by candlelight. Some very sharp lyrics, dark themes of pursuit and predation, and a sultry British accent, all come together here to create the sound of a spiritual art-rock, complete with a fantastically distressed and twisted electric guitar.

The lyrics smack of gothic imagery against the backdrop of a city at night. Grace Jones would be proud of the attitude and the sense of urban renewal via a sense of inevitable decay, which is at once beautiful and terrifying. It is a bold story, told as only Evelyn Drach can.

Evelyn Drach is musician & storyteller from London. This song is featured on our CHILL Angeles playlist.
