A fitting anthem for that irrepressible urge to just bring home a six pack and find something on Netflix.

My fellow New Yorker Jordan Mitchell is back with a new single. "Too Old to Go Out" is a brief pop confection that reminds me just a bit of Virginia To Vegas. This fun track is upbeat, full of hooks, and touches on the realities of life in an unexpected way. Here, Mitchell is musing on the changes in mood and affect that result from the inexorable passing of time. Unfortunately, youth is the universal intoxicant that just never lasts quite long enough. Like so many great pop tracks, this gem emerged from a simple idea, namely "maybe I should I write a song about being too old to go out and party."

Originally from a small farming town in Kansas, Jordan Mitchell relocated to New York City where he has worked as an engineer with some of the top names in the industry: names like Aloe Blacc, Cyndi Lauper, Lil Kim, and Ty Dolla $ign—just to name a few. Well, done sir. We now have an apposite anthem for that irrepressible urge to just bring home a six pack and find something on Netflix.
