Hollis Peach is a local treasure of the Rogue Valley; I caught them serenading the art walk visitors on a Sunday afternoon last summer here in Ashland, perhaps singing this very song. They follow a method-style roots fanaticism as is the fashion out here among the southern Oregon conifers. With their single Yukon River they build and inhabit a dream-world full of prairies, rivers, extended family, and difficult choices.

Daniel Sherrill writes the songs and together with singing partner Jacqui Aubert delivers tuneful turn-of-the-century narratives plucked from the pages of our national history. It's a fun story, a rich natural production, and a beautifully vulnerable duet.
