Juni Poet is a producer and songwriter from Stockholm. He wrote "Heartbeat" with his friend Clairebear on a visit to Los Angeles over the summer, recognizing that a heart beats for an entire lifetime without getting to rest.
The heart is like a ticking clock - a symbol of mortality and the short time we’re given on this earth. Juni Poet and Clairebear wanted to explore that symbolism, and write a song that bears testimony to our own sense of responsibility as living, breathing humans.
