Kendl Winter, with her new single Solitude, inhabits a space between Nick Drake and Iris DeMent, with a casual falsetto lift and a pessimist's lyrical abandon. It is a highly fetching folk jalopy, with dueling dust cloud and angel wings, flying down the open road of introspection.

It is at once a melancholic echo of Susanna Hoffs and a nod to the guitar style of Sam Beam. With a strong track like Solitude, we eagerly await the release of Stumbler's Business on Team Love Records, coming July 20th.

Kendl Winter grew up in Arkansas, but fell in love with Olympia, Washington even before she moved there after high school.
