Mira Lu Kovacs' new album "What Else Can Break" is due for release later this month. Previously, Mira performed under the moniker "Schmieds Puls," releasing three albums and winning awards with the project before she decided to use the name her mother gave her for future solo ventures. "What Else Can Break" is the first release for this new project, and showcases the versatility and raw power of Mira's singing voice.

Starting out simply with acoustic guitar — sounding a bit like ukulele — Mira adds layers of vocal harmony, and eventually woodwinds, and percussion, as this folk ditty blossoms into a full chamber pop experience. Mira Lu Kovacs balances the theatricality of Florence Welch with hints of effervescent folk, and finishes "Stay a Little Longer" with a glorious, tumbled-up melange of acoustic piano, vocal harmonies, and clarinet. This dynamic progression from understated folk cadence to a broad, orchestral pop palette marks an impressive debut for Mira Lu Kovacs, as she delivers an energetic and promising performance on the back of a pitch-perfect production that is perfect for fans of Adrianne Lenker.

I was sick in bed with covid 19 when I wrote this song... And so I started writing this song about surviving. I was actually not referring to the pandemic or the virus itself at all - i was just struggling with everything, it seems. Everything I felt, hurt. Every word and every thought hurt. So I wrote something that I desperately needed to hear.
