MXMS, otherwise known as “Me and My Shadow”, is an alternate reality built by Ariel and Jeremy. Ariel had just arrived from New York City when they met by chance in the studio in Los Angeles. What was to be just a simple writing session blossomed into something much more.

With their single The Run, references to Massive Attack and Portishead come through loud and clear. Using the deep synth and a laser-etched groove, MXMS is able to carve harmonies into raw quartz. The final effect is all hooks and prismatic light.
