Ois4 Omari is a songwriter, performer, and producer based out of southern California. He skillfully brings together elements of hip-hop, trap, and indie pop, weaving personal stories into a tapestry of human experience and clever beats.

On his latest release La Marina: Darkside, he continues his established tradition of matching 16-bit graphics with a serious vocal flow and layers of keyboard confection, poised above a mix of sequencers and studio magic. Catfish, the first track, leads the discussion into some real talk about sexual motivations and the lies we tell about ourselves. A nice use of dynamics pairs well with Ois4 Omari's vocal authenticity and a melodic hook that was borrowed from an old Nintendo box. Catfish, the latest single from Ois4 Omari, is a bold statement for the Tinder generation about what can happen when you hook up with someone you met online.

Ois4 Omari has released a series of albums and EPs in the last year. This song is featured on our Conscious Hip Hop playlist.
