Millie Evans is a middle schooler in Los Angeles with a fun new track called "Open Doors." Originally written on the piano at a much slower tempo, Millie performed her song at school three different times over the course of the last school year. The first performance was at a community share event, then some of the parents learned it, and played it with her at the school fair. Finally her graduating class all learned the song so they could perform it together at the graduation, which was when local producer, Angel Roché Jr., got the idea to help her create a finished version that was aligned with her goals for the song. Together, they bumped up the tempo a little bit, while adding some Americana and Country flavor to the mix. Now with a full music video, courtesy of "her director dad & Hollywood make-up artist mom," Millie is ready to share her art with the world.

Released by Avian Recording Company on August 13th, "Open Doors" is an upbeat acoustic foot-stomper with a message of hope and resilience, along with just the right amount of production flair. Banjo and lap steel? Yes please.

Excited to start a new chapter in my life
but it makes me want to cry
because I have to say goodbye
Running through open doors
Trying to find what I am for

With a bit of emotional rawness, and a touch of childhood innocence a la Sixpence, None The Richer, Millie explores the conversation between nostalgia and fear that so often emerges in times of change. Her classmates needed a musical pick-me-up, and boy, did she deliver.

Nice work, Millie. We wish you all the success in the world.
