Joe Nolan reminds me a little bit of Ryan Adams, circa Heartbreaker (2000) & Gold (2001). I just get the vibe of a no-nonsense troubadour, speaking directly from the heart. Latest single, “Too Much Time To Kill,” is the newest preview from his forthcoming album "Luv in the New World," out September 19. Produced in Los Angeles by Grammy-winner Tyler Chester (Madison Cunningham), "Luv in the New World" was mostly recorded live off the floor to 1-inch tape, preserving the legacy of spontaneity and improvisation from each performance.
With an all-star cast of contributors, this is the kind of groundbreaking release that should keep any true fan of Americana at the edge of their seat. "Too Much Time To Kill" channels that kind of hard-won truth that only makes sense in retrospect. An artist like Joe Nolan lives his life so that we can learn from it.
Some things are bound to break
Cold wind bites like a rattlesnake
Nolan explores the bluesy trappings of a folk persona, stretching the skin of a poet over the bones of a spiritual warrior. His songs feel both intimate and alive with nuanced personal reflection. We look forward to hearing more from this exciting Canadian artist.

"Luv in the New World" features a heavyweight cast of musicians, including Jay Bellerose (Robert Plant & Alison Krauss), Griffin Goldsmith (Dawes), Sebastian Steinberg (Phoebe Bridgers), Sara Watkins (Nickel Creek), and Dylan Day (Selena Gomez).
