With another addition to your personal, ultimate roadtrip playlist, Denver indie rockers Mainland Break are back with a new single "I Give In." This jangly toe-tapper was written about experiencing emotions that are in conflict with one another, and feeling unable to change the process or eventual outcome. As the title suggests: the final suggestion, in terms of a coping mechanism, is radical acceptance. Because we always finish by bearing the mark of circumstance. We must learn to let things change us without breaking us first.
Mainland Break continues to explore the modern legacy of 80's-era indie pop, while adding a bit of their own magic. A straight-ahead rock beat, a busy kick drum, and walls of melodic guitar riffs crash over the listener, while we learn to acquiesce to the 'moonlight prison' that lives in all of us.
Old times leaving new scars
Snakes adorn your arms
They come and go in waves
They come and go in waves
It shows but never stays
It never sounds quite the same
It all swells and fades away
