We've written about Zola Blood in the past. Something about their sound really fits what I'm looking for in the electronic space: it's edgy, artistic, and darkly rhythmic. "Together" is the new single, released as a teaser from the four track EP that will be dropping later this summer–their first offering since 2022’s Black Blossom.

Where pain and pleasure played us in the same fight
The seasons start to blend until we’re blind

This slightly ominous track reads as sort of lover's testimony, and perhaps a warning about the looming risk of romantic obsession. But the larger message is one of encouragement. Sometimes the pain is part of the pleasure.

Given the choice, we should all consider the idea that being part of something is always better than being left out. The mesmerizing music video for this track offers a glimpse into the logistical intricacies of physical connection. This is the dance through life that we do together, if we are lucky enough to have a partner to the madness.
