With a fantastically agile vocal power and a personal vibrato twist that reminds me of Beth Orton, this track by Saba Abraha is a true original. There is a slinky electronic vibe underneath, but the real punch happens with the rawness of the message and the delivered emotion of the lead vocal.

The lyrical narrative is simply a call-out of the modern double standard: rich vs. poor, black vs. white, the nice neighborhood against the rest of us:

“Tell me what the rules are now
and who is above
I’m lost in the maze of the Do’s and Don’ts”— Saba Abraha

It's an exceptional vocal, a needed message, and a dynamic mix that combines deep electronic swing, some huge kick drum drops, and a lot of production candy.

Saba Abraha is a soul singer-songwriter originally from Ethiopia. She is building on the buzz created with her last release Pathway.
