The brainchild of Blake Knutson and Amaya Lim, Bike Lane is a California-based songwriting and production duo with a new single out called "Out of the Blue." Inspired by a diverse range of influences that includes Kate Bush, Taylor Swift and New Order, and their respective tracks "Running Up That Hill," "Out of the Woods," and "Age of Consent," this lively, indie pop thumper explores the common ground between iced coffee, fire season, and an uncanny talent for falling in love with the wrong person.

With the liberal use of shimmering, industrial keyboard sounds, a snappy drum mix, and a gorgeous, layered vocal performance from Lim, "Out of the Blue" makes a solid case for itself as the quintessential end-of-year road trip song. By delivering a welcome sense of unfettered movement along with hints of self-assuredness—culminated in the classic micro-drop at 2:17 (are you sorry? I'm not!)—this easy-going song doubles as a roadmap for anyone wishing to leave their troubles behind. Just press play, close your eyes, and go.

Blake Knutson and Amaya Lim are based in Oakland and Los Angeles.
