This slow and serene collection of electric guitar and ambient embellishments builds to a zenith, and then dissipates. It might just creep up on you, and for a moment feel like you can hear yourself thinking.

This is a beautiful example of the power of simplicity: guitar, delay, reverb. That’s pretty much it until the big crescendo. It’s a soothing track that achieves considerable power by the end: the guitar gets heavier, the bass gets louder, and the drums come in. Aptly named The Rise, this track by Steven Sayles feels like a meditative and gentle minute with yourself, bathing in the warm sounds of downtempo.
