Icelandic singer-songwriter Svavar Knútur comes to us as the son of a school teacher and a fisherman from a rural region of Iceland. In recent years he has developed a closer relationship with his native language and culture by exploring both the stories of his ancestors and the emotional landscape of northern folk.

"November" is a sweeping and dynamic example of chamber pop that extends the genres of folk and indie rock into an engaging narrative canvas, as Knútur analyzes his own feelings about the passage of time and the changing of the seasons. Combining his passion for storytelling and beautiful melody with an explosive and energetic arrangement, "November" offers proof of his praiseworthy lyricism as well as his creative inclination towards emotional healing and catharsis. Influenced by seminal songwriters and raconteurs like Nick Drake, Kris Kristofferson and Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Svavar has developed a unique and casual affect: his live performances sparkle with a mixture of songs and stories that offer both subtle humor and a lasting sense of hope.

Snow drifts down in November
a quiet blanket on my mind
Summer begs me to remember.
Tie me tighter to the mast.
Light a candle in November
And the light is fading fast.

In recent years, Svavar Knútur has extensively toured Australia, the US, Canada, UK and Europe, playing over one-hundred live concerts per year.
