Hello again and happy new year. It was another great month for new music. With the exception of just two tracks from the earlier days of CHILLFILTR radio (from The Luxury of Being Human and Sister) we've got all new releases. A few standouts: Anders Osborne has a new album that could be his best—possibly ever, certainly in the last 10 years or so. Jake Whiskin surprised me with a really strong debut, and speaking of debuts, newcomer Jesse Adelman has a fantastic full length album that was released just a few weeks ago. I stumbled onto Leith's music from a random recommendation, which I appreciate very much. And Mikayla McVey floored me with her track "On Naming," which hit me with that double appeal of a killer roots groove along with a complex and cerebral narrative embedded in the lyrics.

We have made a lot of progress on our new submission system, which will be rolling out over the next few months. I've been working on this behind the scenes for quite a while now: I'm building a standalone submission platform that will be free to use for users and editors alike that can streamline the process for getting your songs and written works over to the CHILLFILTR blog, the internet radio station, and The CHILLFILTR Review. I figured if I was going to build something for myself, I might as well make it easy to share with others—so anyone will be able to set up their own channel and run a submission flow for their blog, contests, lit mag, or really anything. The core subscription will always be free, but we will also have paid upgrades for those with more complicated needs. Anyway, you'll be hearing more about that in the next few months.
