Now, she's connected with a huge fan base and penned a deal with Nettwerk Records, so you could say the world is warming up to her gorgeous voice and massive talent as a songwriter. "Cannonball" is a beautifully-delivered exploration of the intricacies of love, including the 'fear and inner-conflict and heartbreak that often comes along with it.' This intimate track is the first in Emily's repertoire that plainly celebrates the euphoria of a romantic connection. It is a kindhearted and uncomplicated reminder to enjoy the moments that are special in our life.
The accompanying video was co-directed by Emily and Kristen Brancaccio, which depicts a couple revealing their unspoken feelings for each other in a crisply surreal environment—dominated by scattered memories and cool hues of white and blue. They "paint" their emotions and dreams of a future together on each other, as visuals of their imagined relationship appear on each other's skin. As the song progresses, so does the relationship, culminating in a present moment, up-all-night bender and a midnight jump in the pool.
