With a disco nod to both the Bee Gees and Jamiroquai, Jane Holiday offers us a banging groove about millennial disaffection. A long intro sets you up, and when the beat drops, it definitely delivers.

A horn section, an arrangement for strings, and a deep bass groove with staccato Wurlitzer on the backbeat, add up to a lot of movement: It’s a classic disco-funk pocket with a sense of humor and a fun melody. A pitch-perfect, short-and-to-the-point bridge just rolls you back out on to the dance-floor for more of that sticky groove. Well played, Jane.

Jane Holiday is bringing it back. This song is featured on our Groovy Summer playlist.
