We've written about talker before, aka Celeste Tauchar, she is a Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter with an ear for big hooks and pop melodies. talker's music—self-described as emo indie rock with glitter all over it—combines choppy strum patterns and pithy introspection with the kind of authenticity that you can only earn one way: through living. Tauchar started out touring and playing for other bands (including electro-pop powerhouse FRENSHIP) and quickly gained extensive live experience at venues and festivals like Red Rocks, The Bowery Ballroom (NYC), The El Rey Theatre (LA), Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands.

After years of touring with FRENSHIP Tauchar decided to go her own way with the the songs she had been writing in her spare time. She soon received attention from such notable outlets as NPR, Alternative Press, The A.V. Club, Grimy Goods, Buzzbands LA, We Found New Music, and many more. Her second EP "Wax" was released by Common Ground Records in March 2020, coming out with a few days to spare before the California lockdown began which allowed talker to celebrate the release with an Emo Nite performance at the Echoplex in Los Angeles.

Throughout 2020 talker had been heading up to collaborator Dan Sadin's Ojai studio to work on her next record, "In Awe of Insignificance". The 8-song EP comes out March 25th and includes the previously released singles "Sad Chick" & "Summerlin."

"Don't Want You To Love Me" revisits talker's established instinct for building punk-flavored grooves at the intersection of pop and rock. Leveraging her powerful and memorable lead vocal presence, this energetic toe-tapper explores the mental anguish 'when your past shows up to haunt you.' With an inspired music video directed by Chanel Samson, we dig deeper into the mindset of love as a fashion accessory. Have relationships become as interchangeable as the lifestyle choices we make every day?

Or maybe true love still exists.

Either way, talker is getting ready for her biggest year yet with a collection of fantastic songs, and we're here for it. Keep your eye on this phenomenal songwriter. She's getting sent.

Cause I took my shots and made my bed
And now it feels like I might wake up dead
I’m just a cog in my machine gun head
And I can’t pretend

That I don’t want you to love me
I don’t want you to love me
You wish you didn’t even know me
But god I want you to love me
To love me

It’s easy to say you don’t want someone to love you. It’s easy to just block anything that knocks you off your course. It's a lot of he loves me/he loves me not/will they/won't they - but sometimes you have to silence your rational thoughts and trust your emotions. This song is me doing exactly that. — talker

Along with the new EP, Spring 2022 will see talker release a new remix from Bartees Strange, as well as being a featured cast member in the Netflix film "Purple Hearts." She will play herself as a keyboardist alongside Sofia Carson, Nicholas Galitzine, and Kat Cunning.
